"Today we spent several delightful hours in the company of Sombath and his wife Isabelle being toured around their champagne production facility (which doubles as their family home) and tasting their selection of champagnes. Rilly La-Montagne is a small premier cru village just a few km away from Reims centre and is well worth the visit, particularly for Couvreur-Prak, a producer with a desire to make champagne how they like. Sombath is of Asian heritage, Isabelle is French, and between the pair of them, they produce a selection of wonderful champagnes, all with a distinct flavour and style; from the light blanc de blanc to the characterful blanc de noirs and the classic styled vintages, all of their champagnes tell the story of love and craftsmanship (or craftmanandwife'ship) that goes into every bottle. If you find yourself in Reims, take a detour to the beautiful village of Rilly La-Montagne and pay a visit to Couvreur Prak, you will not be disappointed."
